Awareness Takes Flight: Cancer Prevention Session at Airports Authority of India

Marengo CIMS Hospital, in association with Airports Authority of India (AAI), conducted a significant Cancer Health Awareness Session to spread wellness and preventive health awareness among AAI staff. The session was an interactive process of dissemination of awareness of the increasing prevalence of cancer and the role of early detection in enhancing outcomes.

The session was conducted by Dr. Bhavesh Parekh,  Head of Medical Oncology, at Marengo Cims Hospital  who imparted essential knowledge on early detection, taking preventive steps, and choosing wise lifestyle options. Dr. Parekh stressed that cancer, when identified at an early stage, can be managed very well through existing advanced medical treatments. His session also threw light on how small, persistent lifestyle modifications—like balanced diet, proper exercise, refraining from tobacco, and regular screenings—can drastically lower cancer risks.

28 employees of the Airports Authority of India were actively involved in the session, which included healthy discussions and resolving misconceptions and myths regarding cancer. The program also motivated employees to take positive action towards regular check-ups and workplace wellness.

Marengo CIMS Hospital is further enhancing its cause of preventive education and community health outreach by aligning with organizations and institutions to create awareness on key health topics. The alliance with AAI is an extension of the hospital's focus on empowering people through education and making available relevant, expert-driven information. Together, these efforts bring us closer to a healthier, more educated society where prevention can indeed become the first line of defense against disease.
