Urinary infections are commonly seen and are usually easy to treat with routine medicines. However, in some cases, these infections can become severe and difficult to manage. One such condition is kidney infection, also known as pyelonephritis, which can affect overall health if not treated properly. The patient, a 58-year-old man with diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease, had a urinary stent placed earlier for kidney stones. Unfortunately, he missed follow-ups and the stent remained in place for more than a year. Over time, he developed symptoms like fever, blood in urine, and weakness. These signs indicated a worsening infection, which later spread to the kidney and caused significant complications.

Further tests revealed that the infection was caused by a bacteria called Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which had become resistant to commonly used antibiotics. Over a few weeks of continuous treatment and monitoring, the infection was completely controlled. Follow-up tests confirmed that the urine was infection-free and the kidney condition had improved significantly.
