World Diabetes Day 2025: Community Screening for Stronger Awareness
14th November, Marengo CIMS Hospital
World Diabetes Day is celebrated as a call to action for the escalating burden of diabetes and the urgent need for awareness, timely diagnosis, and accessible care. This year, the theme revolves around empowering people with knowledge and promoting early detection; an approach aligning perfectly with the preventive healthcare philosophy of Marengo CIMS Hospital. The hospital supported this movement by organizing a Free Diabetes Check-up Camp on 14th November, which included RBS screening and personalized guidance for the community.
The camp was held successfully at Marengo CIMS Hospital, wherein people from all walks of life participated in understanding their health status. The camp had a dual purpose of not only identifying those people who are at potential risk of diabetes but also educating them on lifestyle changes, nutritional aspects, physical activities, and long-term disease prevention. Many remain unaware of having high blood sugar levels, often approaching medical help when complications arise. This camp aimed at bridging that very gap with early assessment and timely advice free of cost.
This year's theme for World Diabetes Day is "Know Your Numbers," emphasizing regular checks of blood sugar, blood pressure, and metabolic indicators. The camp helped the participants understand the importance of monitoring these parameters in order to reduce the risk of complications arising due to diabetes, such as heart diseases, kidney issues, or nerve damage. The awareness discussions during the event offered practical, easy-to-follow recommendations that could help a person get into healthier routines and protect them from future health challenges.
Marengo CIMS Hospital is deeply committed to community well-being and strongly advocates for preventive health. This camp is testimony to their pledge of empowering people with knowledge, early detection, and continuous support to guarantee a healthier tomorrow for one and all.
